I’m going to write about the last day of my California bike
trip and this conversation I had with my dad and a man we met on our ride. While
having the conversation, I want to flash back to things that happened earlier in
the trip like the first day I rode, different places I went and things I saw,
and just interesting stories or things that happened. I want to compare what I thought
the trip was going to be like with what the trip actually turned out to be. I
plan to draw from previous essays I wrote like the snapshot and scene of
struggle for example. The characters will be me, my dad, my mom, my sister,
people we met on the trip, and my dad’s friends who rode part of the way with
us. I think the theme will be expectation vs reality and how pushing yourself
and trying something brand new and a little scary can pay off in the end.
