Rick Steve Response
I thought the whole chapter was very interesting and there were several analogies and statements he made that made me think. The first was when he talked about the different politics of different countries and how they can give you perspective. I had never thought of traveling as something political, but now I can see the benefits of traveling to different countries to learn about the types of governments there. I also thought the section about terrorism was interesting. I liked how he went into the statistics of how many travelers are actually affected by terrorism because I feel like that is an excuse that people make not to travel to certain countries. Another part I found interesting is when he talked about the idea of the world being a pyramid and the United States being at the top of it because that seems to be a belief that many Americans have. I liked that he came to the realization that this was inaccurate and that not everyone wants to live the "American Dream".
