Rick Steves Response

I found that Rick Stevens had a very interesting way of giving information to his audience. As opposed to coming straight out and addressing some of the safety concerns about traveling, he slowly builds into it, allowing the audience to come to terms with his arguments. I agreed with what he said, especially concerning seeing different points of view. He supplemented his main information with stories and other historical facts, which helped to support his claim. His connection to the media was surprising; I wasn't expecting it to be relevant. However, he connects it easily with the appearance of fake news and how it affects travelers. I had never thought much about the importance of history classes, especially being a biochemistry major. Knowing the history of where I travel has become more important to me, and I can help use that information to better my education.
